As I was looking for kitchen inspiration photos, I stumbled across a butler’s pantry that I loved. Then I looked for it origin and discovered it had been designed by one of my favorite designers, Steven Gambrel. His classic style and restrained interiors are inspiring and this house was no exception. In case you are unfamiliar with his work, here is a link to his website. It is well worth a visit as his interiors are amazing – http://srgambrel.com
The house I was perusing is located on 20 Union Street in Sag Harbor and is a 3-story Victorian built in 1796. It was considered the Summer White House as President Chester Arthur vacationed there. Purchased in 2014 for $3.5 million by a couple who apparently own several properties in the Hamptons, they hired Gambrel to renovate it and boy-oh-boy did they create an AMAZING home. It is for sale for $14.2 million or, you could rent it for the summer for the low cost of $390,000. That may sound expensive but come on, that is 14 weeks at $28k a week (or about $4,000 a day). Let’s go. First here are a few of the “before” photos of the place:
And now, the Afters:
Is this AMAZING?! Here is a video of the property and I just have to say, wow.
